Anybody heard from Pete?

Postby limequat » Tue May 23, 2017 9:21 pm

I understand Pete gave up on vortecs...hasn't posted here in a while. I sent an email, but it bounced. Would be nice to have the forum administered by someone who's still interested.

Jared is a mod, maybe he has Peter's contact. Question is how is the forum being hosted?

Not sure. I've heard from a number of people that would like accounts but can't get them approved.

So on another note, all of the forums I have been involved in seem to have run their course. Everybody uses Facebook and other forms of social media - the down side is that it's difficult to find info as it disappears down the feed. Forums are far better in that respect.

How many people here are on Facebook? If so do you associate with pages or groups on FB?

Relevant info seems to now be found on these forms of social meda- i fear that one day this site will disappear with all the info that this group has gathered

Facebook is great for the instant, but completely worthless for archiving. I've too been through this with some sites...but some sites (like F31Club) can be reborn.

The greatest threat to this site is the LFX and no parts ever getting made. An American straight six is very appealing, but when parts don't exist but do for the LFX, this website or not....that YouTube video of the Nova drag car is just not going to be enough to sustain interest.

The next North Amercan I6 is going to be made by FCA. Due out in the next 4 to 5 years and called the Tornado. The Jeep faithful never really embraced the Pentastar V6. Never seen one swapped into anything, just swapped out for for Hemi/LS V8's. Oh, don't count on the LFX or other high features getting any love either. They just don't bolt up to much unless you live in Australia.

Oh, I figure it's time I attempt a build thread. I'll see what I can throw together.

IF we can't find Pete, then maybe time to move back the inliners vortec yahoo group.

I did a search on vortec4200.com

I'll try and get hold of Pete.

Marc, since you and others from Inliner's are also members of my inline forum, you, they and anyone from this forum are more than welcome to migrate back over there. It already has a 4200 discussion forum there with threads you and others have already started. Since Inliner's doesn't really have a specific 4200 forum there, they really don't offer much in that way of discussion for anyone here, and really don't like it when you mention 4200's in any of their threads.

A few phone calls later ....

The domain name is good until Fall 2020, the hosting package has 11 months left. Anyone can pay for the renewal - but we don't get access to the account without a letter from the owner.
The domain name can be transfered - the account cannot.
